Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS): Living and Managing

Do you know your safe foods and your food triggers?

Certain foods are more likely to trigger IBS symptoms. There are many guides and tip
sheets on the web – but there is no, one, absolutely-going- to-fix- you diet for you to
follow. I knew some of my triggers (fast food kills me) but after speaking with my doctor
and a dietitian I increased my trigger knowledge. Speak to your medical professional to
learn more about safe foods and food triggers.
Understand yourself – and give your permission to be comfortable.

Living with IBS can sometimes make you feel like a hermit because of your symptoms.
The pain and fear of going out into the world can be real. Give yourself some grace. On
the days you can't – just accept this isn't a good day. On the days you can – enjoy your
out-into- the-world adventures. Give yourself permission to be comfortable with how your
body is working. Your friends & family? They will understand. If you can't make the
movie…let them know as soon as you can. Better yet – invite them over for movies chez
vous!

Do you know about Align Probiotic?

Align® is a daily probiotic supplement that provides live bacteria to benefit health,
relieving and managing IBS symptoms such as, abdominal discomfort and bloating, of
Align® contains a probiotic that provides live bacteria that form part of the natural
healthy intestinal flora.

Go to www.alignprobiotic.ca to learn more about Align Probiotics.

I have taken Align Probiotics and have found relief to my symptoms. The capsules are
about the size of a vitamin. I found taking them in the morning while I eat my breakfast,
which I find the easiest way to incorporate them into my routine. My bloating decreased
and my bad IBS days became fewer and far between. By taking Align Probiotics, I felt
like I was managing my IBS rather than my IBS managing me.

IBS is frustrating…but it shouldn't be debilitating. If it is strongly affecting the way you
live your life – go speak with a medical professional. From food guidance to probiotic
recommendations – they have a wealth of knowledge to share to help you manage and
live with Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
