Free Cursive Handwriting Fonts for Tracing
My favourite fonts for free cursive handwriting are the following:
ColeCarriera1 (shown above). It’s a dotted line font where kids can just follow the dotted lines. I also like that the font comes complete with the spacing lines so that kids can learn the height and width of upper case and lower case letters.
Life Lessons (shown above). What I like best about this cursive font is that it shows arrows to indicate direction of lines as well as coming with the spacing lines (for upper case and lower case letter spacing).
Maternellecolor (shown above). This font does not have the spacing lines embedded in the font which is a draw back for learners. However, like Life Lessons, it has handy arrows to direct the writer on whether the letter goes up or down in handwriting.
What about combining these fonts…
You could create a practice sheet with a few lines of Life Lessons or Maternellecolor to practice direction of letters. Then, fill below with some ColeCarriera1 practice so that kids can do the tracing on their own by following the dotted lines. They would have to remember the letter direction (which they would have done with the Life Lessons and Maternellecolor fonts).
