Dollar Store Watercolor Craft For Kids

August 3, 2020 Leave a Comment

This Dollar Store Watercolor Craft For Kids is an easy craft for kids. All you need is crayola markers, a canvas, and a sprinkle of water for the kids to create a unique watercolor craft. Here’s how to make a Dollar Store Watercolor Craft For Kids….

Why watercolors are fun for kids…

  • Washable markers are easy to wash off clothes/hands so this is a low-mess activity
  • It’s a STEM activity (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) because kids see the cause and effect of the water being sprayed on the ink.
  • Each canvas will be a unique creation depending on the colours chosen and where the kids choose to put the colour.

Dollar Store Watercolor Craft for Kids – ingredients you will need…

  • Art canvas
  • Crayola markers
  • Water (I put it in a spray bottle)
  1. Have the kids cover the art canvas with marker. Seriously. No space left white. Do not use sharpies only washable markers.
  2. Spray a bit of water on the ink. Tilt the canvas up and down. Left and right to move the water around (it’s creates a watercolor effect).
  3. DONE.

Because you are filling the entire space of the canvas…the bigger the canvas the more time this will take. I recommend putting some music on in the background and encourage the kids to enjoy the coloring. It’s a quiet activity but yet very engaging.

This is also a pretty great birthday party activity idea as the canvas can be part of the loot bag!

Attempting homemade gluten-free bread. Merci @_na Attempting homemade gluten-free bread.

Merci @_nattyp for recommending @bobsredmill recipe! Realized mid-baking I didn't have xanthum gum but pushed forward anyway.

Scroll to see results. Smells great but definitely "heavy and dense"...I suppose the xanthum would have made it light and fluffy?

I shall continue my quest for soft gluten free bread... thankfully I have lots of active yeast from @baremrkt .

⭐️ Book Review ⭐️

Written by Caroline Fernandez, The Adventures of Grandmasaurus is a playful and educational story with a sneezing grandma who turns a museum field trip into a once in a lifetime adventure. While the grandkids make mature decisions, grandma is up to some tricks, and one cannot help to be struck by the clever role reversal.

What I appreciated most about this new picture book was the author’s well-thought-out decision to highlight and share interesting facts about the lesser known dinosaurs. While checking out this great book, I encourage you to also consider picking up a copy of Caroline’s other amazing children’s story, Stop Reading This Book. Follow Caroline @parentclub

A treat for me. I was inspired by @bfern21 forever A treat for me. I was inspired by @bfern21 forever ago to have a seasonal indoor decoration but could never find the right one.

The "O" in HOME is replaced by different seasonal magnets. Currently in Easter mode!

I don't know about you but I am NOT active enough I don't know about you but I am NOT active enough these days.

Pre-pandemic I was doing 2 yoga classes a week plus a couple 5K walks.💪

Over the last few months
....my sport has been going up and down stairs to switch the laundry. 🤦‍♀️

I'm stiff and sitting way too much.

So I'm getting back to conditioning classes, stretching and walking (weather permitting).

Are you getting active these days?...
