5 Ways to Help Small Business During Covid 19

  1. Buy a gift card to use online (or later in store)
  2. Order take-out or delivery
  3. Renew your memberships and subscriptions
  4. Recommend the small business to friends and on social media
  5. Shop local

Why is it important to support independent businesses

We all need to brainstorm how to better support our local businesses because small business is usually our neighbours and friends. It’s the corner store, the independent bookstore, the mom and pop coffee shop, the karate dojo.

Small businesses don’t have big corporations and deep pockets behind them. They are on the hook for rent, utilities, products, and services when we are all self-distancing.

And some might not be able to survive without our help.

When you feel worried during Covid 19

So buy a gift card. Order take out (ask what their covid safety protocols are if it makes you feel more comfortable). Renew your memberships (and lots of places are offering online alternative classes too!). Recommend the business on Google, social media, and with your friends. Shop local.

BONUS IDEA

Tell them how much you appreciate them! Send an email. Pick up the phone. Tag them in your social media. We all need positive morale these days – and sending a kind word to someone you appreciate is good karma for both of you!

This is so important. We all should be supporting local businesses. I have supported before, but will do it even more now.
