To make Chocolate Drizzle cookies…
An aside: I am a big kids-in-the-kitchen fan. Plus, I happen to LOVE baking. However, I’ve never been much of a cookie maker because I always found it cumbersome (i.e. taking out the butter to get to room temperature, making the batter, spooning the batter into parchment paper to make a roll, chilling the batter for an hour…etc… — way too much work for a busy Mom like me). Which is why I am strongly recommending this Becel Anything Goes Cookie Dough Recipe it is SUPER EASY (i.e. not cumbersome at all!) cutting out so many of the traditional icebox cookie steps. Plus, totally a kids-in-the-kitchen activity to do as a family.
Start with the Becel Anything Goes Cookie Dough Recipe. Once you have the batter mixed. Use two tablespoons to spoon on to non-greased cookie sheet. Preheat oven according to the Becel recipe and bake according to the Becel’s timing instructions (8 minutes at 375C). Allow to cool on a cookie rack.
Note: the Becel recipe says it makes 52 cookies however my daughter spooned quite BIG cookies and as such we made 30 cookies.
In a microwaveable bowl pour in 1 cup HERSHEY’S CHIPITS Milk Chocolate Chips and 1 tbsp water. Microwave high 30 sec. Take out (be careful – it will be hot). Stir with a fork. Return to microwave for another 30 seconds. Remove and stir consistently until chocolate becomes liquid enough to drizzle with a fork.
Take the cooled cookies and place them on wax paper (parchment paper would work as well) on a flat surface. Drizzle the melted chocolate with a fork over the cookies. Use all sorts of directions. Younger kids will need help (as the chocolate will be hot). However, my 12 year old was all over solo-chocolate-drizzle duties.
Once cookies are sufficiently drizzled then sprinkle on coloured sugar (we used green and red for holiday spirit). Transfer wax paper to cookie sheets and chill in fridge for an hour to allow the chocolate to firm up.
Store in an airtight container. Yum!
That’s awesome! It’s like a stash buster for cookies.
I’m not the cookie maker in the house. Hubby loves to make the cookies with the kids. Its their bonding time. Wish I could catch it on camera, but he so camera shy. LOL

I love trying new cookie recipes. These look delicious with the chocolate drizzle.
Those cookies look so pretty and yummy. Perfect for parties or gift giving for the holidays, too.
Last week, I made Coconut Duan Pandan Cookies that won the 2014 ICC Cookie Games. It was difficult and took me two days to bake the whole batch due to the labour involved. Today, I made a variety of cookies from Kraft Canada’s What’s Cooking Festive 2000 edition using only three ingredients. It was not as labour intensive as last week’s new recipe. Whenever I do a recipe for the first time, I evaluate it, make substitutions and prepare to make it allergen free. Due to this, making desserts is more intensive and costly, depending on the materials involved. Cookie making is by far more challenging to me than cakes as each is individually shaped since, not all recipes call for droping cookies on the baking sheet.
These look so good!! I love to make new cookies for the holiday season!
This looks like a great recipe! I love the chocolate drizzle idea. I’m going to have to try this out.
