Dear readers,
I’ve been a bit absent the last few weeks. There’s a lot going on here. Mostly good (except for the growing pile of laundry…because it is a beast which keeps getting bigger!). But the BIGGEST going on stuff is Caroline’s 4th book deal!….
In between writing blog posts and filling out field trip forms…I wrote another picture book. Actually, this one is probably the fastest I’ve ever written a book. It went from vision (the publisher’s vision – it was her book idea) to brainstorming to writing two drafts at the same time (because I had two different ideas which both seems like viable story lines). Then, I finally decided – halfway through writing – there was more potential in one draft than the other.
So ditched a draft. Kept writing the other. Made dinners. Went for groceries. Did laundry.Finished draft. Sent it in (and crossed all my fingers and toes). Make more meals. Did more laundry. Wrote more blog posts. Then, got the email that with a draft book contract.
Sound a little crazy?! It was. It is.
Life never stops. Which is why I wrote that little note of motivation when I shared the book news on my Instagram this week.
If you ever had a dream…make it come true.
.
If you ever wanted a career change…try.
.
If you ever wanted something for yourself…make the time.
.
Learn. Try. Fail. Read. Brainstorm. Apply yourself. Make the time. Try again. Seek out advice. listen. Lean in. Focus. Step away. Try again. Find a mentor. Be a mentor. Keep trying.
.
Dream. Change. Want.
Life never stops. So you need to make the time to chase your dreams.
A reader (*waving hi to you here – dear reader*) messaged me this week saying they missed the old posts where I shared more of my life. My struggles. My wins. My humour (which is funny because according to my kids I’m not funny at all).
Thank you for the feedback.
And I hope this post is one of many more to come where I share my behind-the-blog life.
Cheers to my new book (due out 2020). To my laundry piles. To you taking the time to chase your dreams too! đŸ™‚
Congrats on your 4th book!!
thank you!
