Packing Light For Spring

March 28, 2016

Travel outfit challenge – Packing Light For Spring. Best plan is to plan for layers! Think mix n’ match with a basic colour base. Whether you are planning a getaway weekend or a casual week away…this should cover you…Packing Light For Spring, Travel Outfits

Packing Light For Spring

When packing light for Spring – you want to think minimalist with style. One maxi dress for dinner out (or layer it for touring around during the day). A basic black flat will never do you wrong. Neutral sandals can dress up or down. Plan your t-shirts and tank tops to mix n’ match with your bottoms for comfort and style. A basic blue and black jean will take you pretty much anywhere these days. An asymmetrical skirt is a fav (bonus if you can find a convertible dress/skirt because that turns one piece into two different outfit options).

And as Spring can be chilly (or not) layering sweaters in neutrals are a must! I always have a colourful scarf with me (which can be your pop of colour to this minimalist travel packing list). A big tote/messenger/backpack is great for day use but then you might want to take along a neutral wristlet for evenings out. Sunhat, sunglasses, and wrist watch are practical yet stylish accessories.

And speaking of accessories – I highly recommend my NO SEW DIY T-SHIRT INFINITY SCARF tutorial – this is a must-pack for me for every trip I take. Seriously, I love this scarf!

No Sew DIY T-shirt Infinity ScarfThink of it this way – a scarf is a perfect Packing Light For Spring item. It’s one item you can way a bunch of different ways. Plus, it can double as a blanket in an airplane, a nursing cover up, rain gear and more. A colourful scarf can add so much to a otherwise neutral outfit.

That blue infinity scarf above comes from Shop Mochi (not sponsored – I have the same scarf in cranberry and it’s awesome). 🙂

I’m loving your infinity scarf tutorial. Easy peasy and oh so cute! Packing is always a challenge for me. I always forget something and bring things I simply never wear. Great tips!!

I’ve been working on bettering my wardrobe by having items that I can mix and match. So far so good. Now I only need to get my hands on the dress and skirt in the first picture…. 🙂

There are some people I know who can make 10 outfits out of 5 pieces of clothing. Not me. I have to always have matching outfits before I go anywhere.

I like the idea of layering. I tend to pack color coordinated pieces that I can easily mix and match.

Hubby and I are frequent travellers and our packing system is a work of art. It Leaves the extra room we need when we visit Cuba each fall and take along suitcases full of clothes
