Best Times To Post On Social Media

Really, you should post on to social media when you are authentically wanting to post (yes, I drop in and out of Twitter most of my work day). It’s social. It’s community building. It’s just good.

However, sometimes when you work with brands, events, or book launches – you want to keep in the the best times to post on social media (this is when those platforms get the most traffic).

Twitter 1 – 3 pm

Instagram 5 – 6 pm

Facebook 1 – 4 pm

Pinterest 8 – 11 pm

Google + 9 – 11 am

LinkedIn 5 – 6 pm

Now of course, there is always exceptions to the rule. When I hosted a Twitter Party for More Boredom Busters I scheduled it for 1pm on a weekday. Twitter parties are usually scheduled from anywhere between 8 – 10 pm (and they are super popular at that time slot because kids are in bed and grown ups are tired of TV). Thought my Twitter party had one of the best times to post on social media it didn’t have the same reach as the evening Twitter parties. But that was a strategic decision on my part, I did want the competition of Twitter parties (my Twitter party was small and I knew would get crushed in competition – so by hosting it during the afternoon – it had decent numbers).
