Easy Hot School Lunch List

February 12, 2015

Cold days are upon us…and it’s nice to send a hot lunch to school (it switches up the sandwich routine and warms up the kids before they go out for lunch recess). I’ve put together an Easy Hot Lunch List of kid-friendly comfort foods which can be sent for a hot school lunch. And yes, these would totally work for office lunch too…

Easy Hot Lunch List

Easy Hot Lunch List

Doesn’t this Easy Hot Lunch List just make your crave mac n’ cheese? Or  my Slow Cooker Beef Stew Recipe? Or my Creamy Chicken Rice Soup? All of which are seriously delicious…and easy.

TIP: Pour hot water into an empty Thermos for 5 minutes, dump water, and then add hot food. This will help keep your hot food warm for longer!

When sending a hot lunch to school ensure the top is on securely. This may sound obvious…but if the top is not on correctly…it will spill out…wrecking the backpack…and wrecking school lunch (no parent ever enjoyed the “Hi, this is the school secretary calling, your daughter doesn’t have a lunch” phone call).

Ensure the top is on.

And if you second guess yourself – simply put the Thermos into a resealable plastic bag. Easy breasy.

Share!…What do you send for hot lunches?…

Great list of ideas, it is always nice to have something to plan when you have no ideas yourself.

My granddaughter takes a hot vegetable soup with her in a thermos to school every day. You have made a good list of other alternatives, now she just has to be persuaded 😉
