When I wrote my first book, I discovered the value of saving my work and pictures to the cloud. It was easy. It was safe. It was mobile. I recommend: Microsoft OneDrive Your Files On A Cloud…
Microsoft OneDrive Your Files On A Cloud
As I wrote Boredom Busters, I took notes and pictures of my work. I didn’t always have the time nor the cables-on-hand to connect my phone and camera to my computer to back up my files. But what if I lost my phone? My work? My files? I needed back up. Easy back up.
This was when I discovered the Microsoft OneDrive app on my Windows phone. These are the steps I followed:
- Select a (or several) pictures or files
- Click SHARE icon at bottom of screen
- Then choose OneDrive
- Ok to SAVE
- Done!
Keep all your files and photos in OneDrive. Access and share them from your phone, tablet, and computer.
OneDrive is the one place for everything in your work and personal life. It gives you free online storage for all your personal files so you can get to them from your Windows Phone, your computer (PC or Mac), and any other devices you use. With OneDrive for Business, you also get storage for your work files so you can share and collaborate on them with other people at your work or school.
OneDrive gave me piece of mind that my files were on the cloud (and easy for me to access from phone, tablet or computer). It also provided me with the protection I needed. Think of it as digital file organization.
OneDrive comes with Office Online so you can create, edit, and share your documents regardless of what type of device you are working on. You can also access your files at home, in the office or on the go (great for mobility!).
It’s the one place for everything in your life. Share you family photos from the cloud (just log on at Grandma’s house and she can see the birthday party pictures). Duck out of office early for a doctor’s appointment knowing you can continue working after hours, at home, on that spreadsheet from the cloud.
I know, in January, a lot of us start new work/life routines (organize, simplify, stream line) which is why I’m sharing the tool of Microsoft OneDrive Your Files On A Cloud. It certainly organized, simplified, and stream lined my book files. And that made my life easier.
Share…How do you keep your work or life documents organized?
Disclosure: I received product to help facilitate this review. And I can still find my book docs on the cloud. As always, the opinions in this post are my own. #BetterWithWindows8
This is very handy. I like that it is easy to use and you can save all your files in one spot
Oh goodness, the Cloud scares me LOL I still have an old-fashioned portable hard drive!
I had a portable hard drive too…but then I thought…”what if the house burns down?!” then hard drive and portable hard drive are fried. Which is why I’m moving my essential docs to the cloud – that way they are safe and sound.
I love cloud storage. No matter what happens to my computer or device, my files are always safe. That’s REALLY important for me!
This sure is convenient. I have to look into this!
This is great. I will have to check it out. Lately I’ve been so unorganized! I need to work on it.
I am horrible with keeping my items filed and in a safe place. I have Drop Box but I normally run out of room. I will have to look into this.
OneDrive has lots of room!
I have only recently gotten in the habit of using OneDrive. It’s so convenient.
I need to try this out. I’m sure it would save me a lot of headaches.
I need to get better organized so I will definitely be checking this out.
This would be a great way to back up all your files and have them always accessible. I will have to try the cloud.
I know I have cloud on my devices but I’m scared to use it. New stuff like this freaks me out a bit. From stories, I’ve heard that what goes in the cloud stays in the cloud.
Don’t be scared – it is so so easy! If I can save to the cloud…anyone can 😉
I also use one drive for my files. I love it.
🙂
I love one drive – it syncs my laptops and makes it all so easy! Glad you found it great for your book files!
🙂
I like this idea because i have my photo’s and files all over the place and then when I go to look for them I cannot find them! makes me nuts!
I have been trying to find a way to keep it all organized
This sounds just right for me. i have to try them out
For my iPhone and iPad I use the iCloud. I do have a One Drive account that came with my Windows 8 computer. I also have Google and a Box.com account. I think I am well taken care of in the cloud. I have some other random accounts, too.
This is such a convenient way to keep everything together in one place. I need to look into using it myself!
I use Google Drive for all of my files. I keep a backup on a flash drive too. It works well for me.
I really need to talk to the hubs about this. Having everything easily stored in one place would be a huge lifesaver.
Having everything in one spot is ALWAYS the best way. I am really going to consider doing this.
I need something like this. It is a pain to take a picture with my camera, but then have to put it on my computer to send it to my phone. It would be nice to access it anywhere (like Evernote).
I think I may need to set something like this up. I do have a portable external hard drive that I use but it never fully ensures the safety of my work and digital files in the event of a fire (god forbid).
I love to store stuff in the cloud. It makes it easier to find the things I need.
This sounds like something even I could use.
Thank you so much for explaining Cloud to me…this will really solve my problem of accessing my recipe file on my tablet instead of my laptop. Tablet takes much less room on my counter when I’m baking than my laptop does. I spent quite a bit of time trying to solve the problem today…
This sure is convenient, thanks for the post !
