A Fisher-Price Power Wheels® Harley-Davidson® Rocker™ – how cool is that?! A boy’s dream n’est ce pas?! Sure fire hit right?! This is the review where we learn…don’t make a big deal about new toys…
It came in a wonderfully big cardboard box with pictures of a Harley-esque bike just the right size for my toddler. I was excited for him. He adores motorcycles (like father/like son – my husband has two motorcycles himself). We have motorcycle magazines around the house. Every weekend there is motorcycle mechanics going on in the garage. This mini-moto was going to be a hit. Or so I thought…
The Power Wheels® Harley-Davidson® Rocker™ assembly is very straight forward (did it while dinner was grilling on the Bar B Q). The battery – however – has to charge overnight so it was “Yay, look at your new motorcycle – but it won’t work ’til tomorrow!”. He was disappointed he could not GO GO GO NOW!
TIP: If you are thinking of gifting a Power Wheels® Harley-Davidson® Rocker™ – charge it before you give it.
It was cool. It was a vehicle. It had groovy stickers. Engine. Buttons. A pedal. I hyped the heck out of it. He was going to have SO MUCH FUN (I wanted him to have so much fun). I suppose a lesson on kids making their own fun is here somewhere. But I knew from the manufacturer specs this was going to be funtastic…
Maximum Weight:50 lbs. (23 kg)
Age: 1½-4 years
• 2.5 mph (4 km/h) max., forward & reverse • Drives on hard surfaces and grass • Power Lock® Brakes • Includes 6-volt battery and charger
When it was charged, he had his helmet on (hey – his dad wears one when he rides his motorcycle!), he was good to go…and one push on the pedal…well, it scared the bejezus out of him. “Scary!” he cried and jumped off the rocker and into my arms.
As much as I praised the Harley – my son would have nothing to do with it. It was “scary”. I tried to get him back on but no. He cried real tears. The Mom-motorcyle-hype had backfired.
Until, Papa came home.
My husband, bless him, parents quite differently than I.
Where I over-hyped – he casually mentioned “hey, did you get a motorcycle like me?”. That was all it took. “See Papa! See!” And with that, my son took my husband by the hand and walked him over to male-bond-over-bikes.
And what happened next you ask?…this ->
He went forwards and backwards. Over grass and over concrete. He drove in circles and straight lines.
Smiling.
I stood back – somewhat insulted – that he didn’t love it when I loved it. But it showed me that when a toy is good – it becomes loved on its own.
Take aways from this review: Charge your Power Wheels® Harley-Davidson® Rocker™ before using it. Don’t make a big deal over new toys. Parenting differently – can be a very good thing.

So true! I have learned to not make a big deal of anything, kids are silly like that! lol
Great photos!!
I have a great pic of him full on crying on the motorcycle…but I’ll save that one for my speech at his wedding 😉
Great pictures! I have grandkids that would love to tool along on this!
wow my kids would love that lol… I have 2 boys the oldest just turned 4 in april and the baby is turning 1 in 2 days.
What a cute toy! My boys would love this! And, yes, they would be wearing their helmets too!
This is adorable. I always wanted one of these as a kid and I wish they were more in the $49 range and we would more be into wanting to buy it. Our kids are very tall and grow fast so they would only be able to use it for a limited time. But thats just my tall family!!!
This is the coolest trike for the little ones I’ve seen. My niece and nephews would absolutely love this and it would be hard to get them off
