Yes, fun can be free
We often over schedule and over plan as parents. This just causes stress and anxiety (and I’m speaking from experience — I am a major over planner and over thinker). Kids are busy all year round with school and sports and extracurriculars. It’s OK to make summer more downtime oriented. And yes, this fits with free and fun.
You don’t need to buy amusement park entry and water park passes for the kids. Give a kid a sprinkler and let them have at it. Or water balloons. Or sponges and a bucket (soak em and throw em!).
