Easy Cheese and Charcutterie Board

December 23, 2019 1 Comment

This Easy Cheese and Charcutterie Board how-to will make your get together plans easier. Whether it is for a pot-luck, appetizer, tapas, or a just an alternative-to-traditional-dinner idea…an Easy Cheese and Charcutterie Board is a crowd-pleaser!

Easy Cheese and Charcutterie Board

What I like about Cheese and Charcutterie Boards is that they can mix n’ match to everyone’s tastes. Different cheeses, different cuts of meat, crackers and breads (gluten-free or gluten-full). Guests can help themselves to as much or as little as they like. I kinda love when appetizers are informal this way.

Simple Cheese Board Ideas

Choose a mixture of soft and hard cheeses to create an assortment of shapes, sizes, and colours of cheese. My recommendations include:

  • Manchego (firm cheese)
  • Brie (soft cheese)
  • St. Agur (soft blue cheese)
  • Chaume (soft cheese)
  • Riopelle (soft cheese)
  • Oka (firm cheese – I prefer the artisan oka)
  • Tomme de Savoie (firm cheese)
  • Cambozola (soft blue cheese)
  • Old cheddar (older the better)
  • Roquefort (soft blue cheese)

Simple Charcutterie Board Ideas

  • Salami
  • Prosciutto
  • Jamon serano
  • Jamon Iberico
  • Cooked ham
  • Dried chorizo
  • Pâté
  • Saucisson sec

Add-ons for a Cheese and Charcutterie Board

  • Crackers (gluten-free or gluten-fill)*
  • Sliced baguette
  • Green seedless grapes
  • Good olives

*Crackers: no Ritz or fish crackers (unless you are doing a kids’ board in which case…Ritz and fish crackers are perfect additions). For adults, you want grown-up crackers.

Also, you might want to try my recipe for: SPINACH, ONION, AND FETA IN PUFF PASTRY. You can cut it into wedges and serve it as an appetizer.
