Parent Club Picture Book Review #3
And if you ever wanted to publish a children’s book – I recommend:
No Frogs in School by A. LaFaye Illustrated by Eglantine Coulemans
Animal loving, thoughtful, school loving kids will enjoy No Frogs in School. It’s a tale of a child who loves pets and doesn’t want to go to school without one however the rules of school, enforced by his teacher, creates a furry situation.
Don’t Let The Pigeon Stay Up Late by Mo Willems
Love Love Love this book! Children come to request, read, and repeat this book over and over. It’s laugh out loud funny at some points.
Even Super Heroes Make Mistakes by Shelly Backer Illustrated by Eda Kaban
Everybody makes mistakes and this book shows young readers that that is normal. But don’t give up or give in. You go on after a mistake. An especially good read for kids where in their worlds they make mistakes often…it’s reassuring to know even super heroes make mistakes.
The Night Dragon by Naomi Howarth
A tale of overcoming fears, finding one’s inner strength, and saving the day in your own way (or the way of a night dragon).
These sound like great books, and ones that I would enjoy reading to my granddaughter!!
Thank you for the book reviews. I will be looking for DON’T LET THE PIGEON STAY UP LATE BY MO WILLEMS. I am already starting to read to our 5mth old grandson so your suggestions are so appreciated.
