About the Vtech KidiBuzz
First thing, this being a Vtech toy, you know that it is well made and absolutely kid-friendly. We have had many Vtech toys over the years and they have all been fun, educational, and safe (in terms of make as well as technology-safe-for-kids – more on this below).
Secondly, there’s a blue and pink version of the Vtech KidiBuzz (personally, I think a blue and green version would be a little more gender-less)…but for those of you who like colour choices…blue and pink it is.
Thirdly, this is a toy that can grow with your child (and be passed down to siblings and cousins!). You can customize the games, e-books, videos based on your child’s preferences and then switch-them up as she/he grows.
What is the Vtech KidiBuzz?
It’s a hand-held smart device for kids (aged 4-9 years). It’s bigger than a smart phone but smaller than a tablet which makes it a great size for kids hands (and also fits well in your bag for road trips!). Kids like to be like older siblings and parents – with their very own device – however not all hand-held devices are appropriate for kids. The Vtech KidiBuzz is designed specifically for kids!

IMPORTANT TO KNOW: Parents can manage apps, set time limits and add websites to the kid-safe web browser. As a parent I really LOVE these parental controls – because though my son is a digital kid – he is still a kid – and needs limitations on what he can play, how long he can play, and where he goes on the web.
SAFE MESSAGING: KidiConnect Messagin allows your child to send/receive text, voice and picture messages via wi-fi to and from parent-approved iOS and Android smartphones. You set this up and control who your child messages.
The layout is kid-user-friendly. Large buttons and colourful screen allow ease of use. The Vtech Learning Lodge houses hundreds of downloads including learnng games, videos, e-books, music and more. I especially like that the Learning Lodge is categorized: Reading & Language Arts (i.e. handwriting, reading), Science & Social Studies (i.e. science, geography), Creativity & Problem Solving (i.e. art, mysteries), and Math (i.e. money, patterns).
