Back To Routine Season Tips are timely because September offers a fresh start to return to (or start) healthy living. Incorporating healthy habits into your daily routine can be simple (yes, really!)…
Back To Routine Season Tips
Summer is meant for unstructured fun right? Later bedtimes, cheat days, indulgence. Summer memories are made of these things. However, September brings back-to-school and back-to-routine – it’s time to refocus and get back on track.
Plan balanced meals and snacks. Crack open your favourite cookbooks and browse recipes. Not only will this make you hungry (sorry about that) it will give you some inspiration on meal planning for the week. And a meal plan definitely helps in creating a grocery shopping list. Which in turn, keeps you focused when you are in-store getting groceries. It’s a trickle effect.
I don’t go so far as to write out a meal plan…but I do look at my recipes and mental plan what we eat. Same with snacks and school lunches. My food plans help me organize packing school lunch boxes because I know exactly what fruits, veg, carbs, and proteins are on-board for the day. It’s a routine.
Make exercise a routine. I was never much of a sports-person. I thought pushing a stroller or pulling a wagon was enough. However, since this past Spring, I have been regularly attending a yoga class and I LOVE IT. I even buy 10 class cards so that I’m accountable for going. Regular yoga classes have made me feel stronger and more balanced.
Target your digestive, heart, bone, and whole body health
With the number of options and amount of information available, trying to select the right vitamins and supplements for a healthier lifestyle can be overwhelming. Drink more Water. The summer break of ice coffee by day and cocktails by night has come to an end. Carry a refillable bottle of water with you (and drink it). Water not only hydrates you but is important to your energy levels, skin, and digestive system.

Good tips! I have been drinking tons of water this summer (its been so hot), so that should not be a problem. But we do have to eat healthier meals again…
We’ve sitting down today (thank you civic holiday!) to figure out a schedule for the parents to go to the gym and all of us to eat better!
