Snack Tips and #SnackHacks

July 10, 2017

These Snack Tips and #SnackHacks will take your snacks to the next level. Snacks can be kid-friendly, portable, and healthy. Personally, I love to graze so snacks are right up my alley. And snacks have saved my sanity as a boredom buster on car rides home over and over again (more on that below)…

Snack Tips and #SnackHacks with Nosh & Co

Snack Tips and #SnackHacks

One snack to feed them all or separate snacks? If you have a family where one snack will please everyone then go that route (simpler is always easier). However, if you have a family like mine where everyone likes something different (sigh) then pack individual, reusable, containers of respective snacks so that kids have choice.

Stock up on healthy snacks. I’ve always said the fastest food is food you already have in your bag. So skip the fast food lines at summer attractions and have a healthy snack, good-to-go, in your bag. My kids recently devoured a bag of Nosh & Co lightly salted popcorn in an afternoon (very kid-approved snack). It got me thinking…I can take snacks to the next level.

Next level snacks. So take popcorn and add Nosh & Co unsalted roasted shelled sunflower seeds and Nosh & Co roasted and salted pumpkin seeds. Mix the 3 snacks together. Instant trail mix! Vegan, gluten free and nut free #snackhacks!

Water with all the snacks. Hydration is key (for everyone). Water is also the perfect drink: it’s healthy, dries easily if there are spills, and everyone likes water.

Snacks as a sanity saver and boredom buster…

So before we head out on any adventure/playground visit/road trip I pack a snack, for the kids, for on the way home. If it’s something that might melt in a hot car (like Nosh & Co granola bars which have chocolate chips) I put them in a cooler with an ice pack. We go off on our adventure…and just when we get back in the minivan and the impending meltdown surfaces (because there is always a meltdown after a long day), the snacks feed their hunger and fuel their low-energy.

Did you know? Nosh & Co products are made in Canada! Find them for purchase at Rexall stores. Check the store locator on the website for a location close to you.

Disclosure: This post is in partnership with Rexall and Nosh & Co. Tips and hacks are my own.

In our house, stocking up on healthy snacks is definitely the way to go. If you fill the cabinets with junk like Twinkies, every one will grab those every time. If you fill it with snack mix, yogurt covered pretzels, etc than people grab those. The same goes for bottled water, if your fridge is full of it, versus full of soda’s, it encourages household members to drink more water.

Definitely a lot of good ideas and the more healthier the snack the better. Get the kiddies used to less sugar healthier snacks when they are small.
