My kids and I developed this fantastic (and super easy) Kid’s Mock Cocktail Recipe. It’s fresh, yummy, and a fun kid drink to serve at any party or get together. You’re going to LOVE this…
Aside: We served our Kid’s Mock Cocktail Recipe in margarita glasses. The kids were thrilled to sip from fancy glasses. If you want to keep this drink soda pop-free you could substitute the pop with cranberry juice. It will change the colour but it will still taste great.
Kid’s Mock Cocktail Recipe
- 1/4 cup sprite or ginger ale
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- maraschino cherry
- Ice cubes
- Glass
- Shaker
- Pour equal parts sprite and orange juice in a shaker. Add in ice. Shake well.
- In glass, put in one ice cube. Pour sprite/orange juice mixture into glass. Add in one maraschino cherry.
- Enjoy!
This drink would go great not only as a beverage but as one of your birthday party activities (think: birthday kid gets to do the shaking and serving; making him/her the hostess with the mostess – or host with the most). We served this drink at a party and it was a huge hit.
Even as a grown up – I love this mocktail recipe. It’s light and fresh.

This looks so fun! Definitely want to try it for my neice and son
Thanks, this looks great!
I used to love Shirley Temples when I was a kid. So decorative with the pretty drink, cherry and parasol. I would have loved this as a kid. (looks great now)
I’m glad I found this post. My son and I were at the mall and he wanted to buy a martini-style plastic slushy glass (the kind you put in the freezer) so I’ll make this drink recipe for him and serve it to him for a giggle.
great recipe
I will be picking up he ingredients to try this on the weekend
My daughter would love his. She is practicing her adulting. LOL!
My kids would love this drink!
This looks really good and the kids would love it and especially in the fancy glass
Interesting, never heard of kids version cocktails. Mocktails..
The kids would love this
This sounds good enough for myself as well! I don’t drink alcohol and water gets boring
I think I would like this as well as I’m not a big drinker and this does sound refreshing
Love these… when I think ahead – and now that I’ve seen this I will – I like to freeze the cherry with a little of the juice in ice cube trays with sprite or gingerale.
