Winter Outfit Ideas

February 24, 2017 5 Comments

Winter Outfit Ideas (hint: layers!).  Looking to Spring – but still not quite there – it’s time to make layers your friend in your daily dressing. Why? Because layers make your body feel like there is the possibility of a warmer weather feeling coming (you can take off that sweater one day soon). Here are a few winter outfit ideas to help you transition to Spring fashion…

Winter Outfit Ideas, blue and beige outfit

Winter Outfit Ideas (Layers!)

Can’t go wrong with beige and blue for casual wear.

I happen to love an asymmetrical sweater. It’s unique. Comfortable. Transitional. Layer under that a cotton t-shirt and you are classic. A plain jean jegging is everyone’s friend. And those flats…OK maybe wishful thinking for chilly people like me (OK, I wear boots way into Spring). But I appreciate the transitional opportunity for beige flats like that…you can wear them Spring, Summer, and Early Fall. Oh and a cotton/canvas bag? Always handy.

Winter Outfit Ideas, layers, grey outfits

The grey for days outfit.

Aside: I’m kicking myself that I didn’t buy a pair of sock booties this season. And now they are all sold out. Boo on me.

I like the idea of faux leather jeggings. They look so rockstar-esque. And I’ve seen many women wear them as work wear (that’s right…work wear! Last media event I went to, a pr person was rocking her faux leggins with a blazer…I had a bit of a crush on her outfit).

A long-ish grey blouse under that grey poncho are kinda awesome. The peak of delicate blouse under chunky sweater has an opposites-attract feel to it.

And a clutch with a wristlet is the perfect accessory (you don’t want a bulky tote under a poncho – it’ll just get in the way).

gym outfit black and white basics

The I’ve just gone to the gym (when I’m really I work from home) outfit.

lol – last week a friend “popped by” last minute for a visit. No time to change…I met her in my work from home outfit glory (joggers and an oversized hoodie). Yep. That’s how I keep it real.

But actually, for realz, have you ever worked in joggers?! They are super comfy! And I happen to love oversized (i.e. long) sweaters.

Maybe it’s because blogging is creative…that I need to feel comfortable when I write. Honestly, I’ve never written a thing wearing heels and a dress.

I love the winter looks. My favourite is the first outfit. I will definitely start wearing blue and beige together. Casual but still pulled together is what I strive for.

I love all these outfits, but I need to lose a lot of weight for any of them to look good on me!!
