12 Date Night Ideas | A Year of Pre-Planned Dates

February 13, 2017 22 Comments

This list of 12 Date Night Ideas | A Year of Pre-Planned Dates will make date night so much easier. A monthly date night sounds easy enough…but do you actually make a monthly date night happen (yeah, me neither). So let’s do this! I’ve put together 12 pre-planned dates that fit pretty much every budget and interest group – now just print this pdf, cut out the cards, and use them every month to make date night happen…12 Months of Date Night Ideas, A year of pre-planned dates via www.parentclub.ca

12 Date Night Ideas | A Year of Pre-Planned Dates

So here’s the thing with my date night ideas…they are inclusive. So if you are a couple or single you can do it (as a single — you can do these date night activities with a friend…or gasp…even take you kid on a date!).

A year of pre-planned date nights..

JANUARY Double date with friends. A double date can be a great way to get out of the house (meeting friends means you have to be accountable for actually going out and not cancelling because you just don’t feel like it).

FEBRUARY Coffee chat. Visit a local independent coffee house and grab a drink – just the two of you. OK grab dessert too!

MARCH Game night (board, video, card games). Many bars and restaurants have games (really). Or you can stay home and game.

APRIL Try a new activity. Rock climbing, trampoline, golf, dancing, ax throwing (yes, there is an ax throwing place in my city).

MAY Movie night. At home or in theatre.

JUNE Go see a live performance. Band, theatre, stand up comedy, second city, musical, show.

JULY Go for a walk on a beach. A free and fairly fantastic way to spend time together. If there isn’t a beach near you…walk a park…or valley.

AUGUST Walk your neighbourhood.  Also, related shop local. It’s a good way to be together without having to go very far.

SEPTEMBER Sports. Play a sport, watch a sport, cheer on a sports team.

OCTOBER Make dinner together. Either at home or take a cooking class together.

NOVEMBER Visit something historical. Think: museums, art galleries, historical buildings.

DECEMBER Dinner just the two of you. At home or out on the town.

When I think date nights…I think breaking the routine. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Or be super lavish. The priority of date night is to spend time with someone special to you. And yes, this can be your couple partner, parent, child, friend, or neighbour. You deserve a date! Make it happen 🙂

Those are all fun ideas. We end up doing lots of date nights at home because honestly, by the time it’s time for the date – we are tired and don’t feel like going out.

You have the idea so right, it doesn’t have to cost a lot or take a great deal of time , but you just have to show up and do it together and it will bring you closer to that person. Some of your dates are so simple but so nice!

My husband and I like to have date nights often, but neither one of us likes to spend a lot of money. We try to do something on the cheaper side. There is a great movie theater near us that plays movies for just $2.50. That’s my kind of price.

These are great ideas. My husband and I like to spend time together, but seldom seem to make the time to do it. Having a chart with a type of date for each month will encourage me to actually plan a monthly date with my husband.

I love the idea of actually booking dates for the whole year. That way, you can’t back out of them. At least, if they are marked on your calendar for a particular day, it makes it a little more likely to happen. Great post. Thank you.

Need some good news? People are still kind. Despit Need some good news? People are still kind. Despite the pandemic and lockdowns and frustrations. People are still kind.

My @littlefreelibrary is proof. People drop off their gently used books just to share something to read.

There are kids' books, magazines, non-fiction, novels and even a couple dvds!

People are free to take, disenfect, quarantine, not-return or return-something-else at their own comfort level.

It's the kind of thing that brings us together when we are apart.

Baking hack! Use clothes pins to hold your parchme Baking hack! Use clothes pins to hold your parchment paper down.

Credit for hack: my daughter because when I asked her to come help me by holding the parchment paper she got two clothes pins...pinned the parchment...and then said "it's not that hard Mom" (paraphrasing)

🤦‍♀️

Despite the hit to my fragile ego...the hack worked.
