Tips To Beat the Winter Blues

January 25, 2017 1 Comment

Tips To Beat the Winter Blues – we all need them these days right?! Call it Blue Monday or Winter Blahs or whatever…we all feel a little less perky in the winter. Here are some simple tips to beat the winter blues…(for you and the whole family!)…

Tips To Beat the Winter Blues

Indulge in an edible/drinkable treat. Maybe it’s a cup of coffee at a local cafe. Maybe it’s a cookie at 4pm snack time. Maybe it’s making the BEST BROWNIES RECIPE EVER with your kids. A special drink or nibbly is a nice way to boost your day.

Stay active. Yes, I know…couch-ing is so great in the winter. I love to couch myself. But you have to push yourself to move. Staying active during the winter months keeps blood flowing, blows the spiderwebs out of your mind, and keeps you in an active mindset. Me? I have a weekly walking date with my neighbour. My kids have karate. And we bundle up and walk in one way or another every single day.

Moisturize your skin. I’m not a fan of dry, tight, skin because of dry winter air. Not at all. So I use the Aveeno Absolutely Ageless Collection to nourish my skin and keep it looking and feeling healthy. The Aveeno Absolutely Ageless Resortative Night Cream deeply nourishes and hydrates dry skin throughout the night to help you awaken to soften, smoother younger-looking skin in just one week.

Shake up your routine. Winter getaways are popular because they are just the ticket (excuse the pun) for going somewhere with sunshine (and sand is always nice too). How about a weekend getaway? Or an afternoon out? Even just having friends in for an afternoon of coffee and cake is a great way to shake up the routine and beat the winter blahs. Psss…superbowl weekend is coming…why not have a game day potluck with friends?

I really like these tips since this winter has been hard for me. I think shaking up your routine is a great idea that can really help you get out of a funk.
