About BookJane
BookJane is a caregiving app that provides qualified caregivers on-demand. Download on the App Store or get it in Google Play. You can search, in minutes, for caregivers for seniors and children alike. You can also filter your search for experience, credentials, languages, and availability.
You specify the care date and time required, your chosen filters, and type of care (for seniors or children)…and it brings up a list of potential on demand care choices.
You may need companionship or light housekeeping for your senior parent. Or perhaps an engaging and responsible babysitter for your kids.
Are the caregivers vetted?
BookJane partners with Checkr to conduct a thorough background check of each potential caregiver. Included in each background check they ask for two pieces of valid government identification; an address history search; a search against Province, National, and Federal databases.
In addition, each caregiver must have a two-tier background check, including a reference check and vulnerable sector check which takes place in-person at a police station.

Can I communicate with a Jane before she comes to my house?
Yes, you can chat with your Jane via the BookJane app before you book. Feel free to ask specific questions,get to know each other and easily arrange for a phone or in-person meeting.
You can also read reviews from other customers and see their star rating to help with your decision making.
You have the ability to review Janes and create favourites so that you can re-book the same Jane you connect with.
How do I book Jane?
Open the app. Search by your address (or caregiver name if you have a favourite). Enter the date you need caregiving (it could be right now or in a week). Choose the type of care you need (senior care or child care). And press search.
How does Jane get paid?
Flat rates (Child care – $21.00/hour and senior care – $25.00/hour) with in-app payment mean no awkward negotiation or rate guessing. Your credit card is automatically charged through the app.
It’s as easy as ride sharing or paying for a taxi.

Sounds like a great idea to me, the fact that they are also do background checks and check qualifications is a huge plus. We were shocked once to come home and find our kids on their own, our babysitter just left because her boyfriend came to pick her up!
