Are you Halloween stressed yet? No fear, I have your back with these Easy Halloween Costume Ideas for Kids. Bonus: these easy Halloween costume ideas use items of clothing you probably already have in your closets…

Easy Halloween Costume Ideas for Kids

It’s a pain to shell out (excuse the pun) money on a costume kids will only wear once. That said, I do have a bin of costumes which my little can use for role play. However, big kids get to an age where they don’t want to role play and thus you really don’t need a dress up bin any more. These are some easy costume ideas to dress your big kid, tween, and yes even teen (OK, and yourself for that Halloween party)…

For a Bank Robber costume you will need: dark jeans, black and white striped shirt, black hat, black gloves, mask and a money bag.

For a Where’s Waldo costume all you need is: blue jeans, white and red striped shirt, red hat, and fake glasses.

For a Superman costume all you need is: Superman t-shirt layered under a white button shirt, dark jeans, and fake glasses.

For a Wednesday Addams costume you need: black dress with white collar, black tights, and black shoes.

Personally, I like the Superman costume idea (because I would totally wear a Superman t-shirt all year round so this would be trendy and practical).

Out of all these ideas, what are my kids going as this year?…Spiderman (we have costume in our dress up bin). A Care Bear (we have to DIY the costume – send tips!), and “disappointment” (my teenager’s snarky response). Me? I dress for the weather more than the holiday…so I could be a skier with winter clothing if it’s cold or Mary Poppins with an umbrella if it’s rainy.

These are great, but simple, ideas for Hallowe’en costumes. I’ll be passing this article on to my daughter who’s looking for easy costumes for her children.

I find home-made costumes so much more fun than shop bought ones.

I am always amazed at how people can throw costumes together out of nothing!! I on the other hand can’t!! 🙁

There were some great costumes this Halloween It’s my favorite time of year love handing out the candy and getting to see the costumes. Some didn’t bother to dress up at all I wish they would and get into the spirit of Halloween 🙂
