These 5 Family Outdoor Activities and Adventures are low-budget and high on fun for the whole family. We are active on the weekends (everyone should be right?!) and family adventures are great ways to spend time together. I’m including some tips for all-ages (so no excuses if you have a baby or a teen) — everyone can get out and enjoy these 5 Family Outdoor Activities and Adventures…
5 Family Outdoor Activities and Adventures
#1 Go for a walk. Parents with babies – strap on the wrap or get out the stroller. Parents with young children – pull that wagon. Parents with teens – bug them ’til they go just to make you stop 😉 A walk is a no-cost activity you can do all year round.
#2 On your mark. Get set. GO! Your first thought might be going for a run (great if your babies will stay in the jogging stroller or if you teens can keep up). However, those school-aged kids can get left out on a run. But what about a geocaching race? This marries short runs with detective-ness; finding clues and treasure along the way. Total adventure.
#3 Lets Play… A pick-up game of soccer in your local park (or even your backyard) is a great way to be active with your family. You can do drills. Play pass. Or have full-on game (watch out for red cards!).
#4 Go for a hike. Grab a backpack and some shoes and hit the forest road. There may be hills. They may be rocks. But the adventurer in you will conquer them all.
#5 Day trip somewhere. Go on a mini-road trip and explore something different. #FeedYourAdventure

SHARE: What are your favourite Family Outdoor Activities and Adventures?…
Disclosure: This post is brought to you by CLIF Bar & Company. Opinions, as always, are my own.
My children are all grown ups now, and if we would come together and have an outdoor family activity, it would either be a walk or a day trip somewhere with our dogs, of course. We used to play basketball together, but now we can’t keep up with those energizer bunnies anymore. 🙂 Thanks for the list. I’m sharing this with family and friends.
A family walk is a great outdoor activity for any age isn’t it?! 🙂
For sure we do several of these things on a regular basis. I have also tried the kid’s cliff bars. I like the price point and the ingredients too. The kids enjoy them and they are a great option for my active kids who are always running to rehearsal or martial arts to running or therapy horseback riding. Always somewhere. Now the only tiny comment I would have for Cliff though is that my older child is concerned about taking them anywhere there is a peanut allergy. I think the packaging reads may contain…any clarification on that would be great because I will keep buying them but would buy them more often if I knew they could take them everywhere safely.
It’s great to be able to pop a CLIF bar in your bag and go! And you are responsible to check for allergy ingredients. I just checked my CLIF Kid chocolate brownie bar and it does say “may contain traces” which includes peanuts and tree nuts – so you are right to mention they cannot be taken everywhere.
We love to spend time outdoors with our family. There are so many awesome things you can do with the family outdoors. These are great ideas.
I bet your family loves the time together!
We love Clif bars – just bought huge packs at Costco yesterday!
