Things To Do In Toronto With Kids

August 8, 2016 21 Comments

If you are coming in to Toronto any time soon (and you should — welcome to my city!) I’ve put together some Things To Do In Toronto With Kids. Toronto is diverse, progressive, modern, innovative, and so family-friendly!

Things To Do In Toronto With Kids

THINGS TO DO IN TORONTO WITH KIDS…

Toronto is where the excitement is all year round.  Some of the most iconic things to do in Toronto with kids are in within a short walk of one another: You can start by visiting the CN Tower (where there’s a glass floor for the brave to step on), and right beside the CN Tower is the famous Rogers Centre, where you can take in a Major League Baseball game (go Jays, go!) or catch a BIG-name concert. Across from the Rogers Centre is Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada (a fun place to visit for all ages).

There are a few other things to do with kids in Toronto in the same ‘hood as the CN Tower: Check out a concert or NBA game at the Air Canada Centre (Go Raptors!), walk the Toronto Harbourfront (also a prime spot for some of the city’s finest festivals), or visit the Hockey Hall of Fame; all three destinations are nearby. Also close: plenty of family-friendly restaurants sure to please the pickiest of eaters.

Toronto offers a vibrant city life experience to every family. The famous Toronto sign in Nathan Phillips Square is a great background for your photos. Nathan Phillips Square is also the spot for farmer’s markets, free concerts, and family outdoor movies.

One block from Nathan Phillips Square is the Toronto Eaton Centre, one of Canada’s largest malls. (Your teens will want to shop there – OK, so will you!) Also, you have to check out Yonge-Dundas square (think Times Square, but with a distinctly Toronto vibe).

Things to do in Toronto, Toronto harbourfront

Take a ferry (from the Toronto harbourfront) over to Toronto’s Islands to get a great city view. Little kids will love the rides and fun at the Islands’ CentreVille amusement park.

And for the eco-family…you will want to stop by the Evergreen Brick Works.

Toronto Brickworks

The Evergreen Brick Works is super family-friendly and offers activities, walking space, special events, and lots of fun.

Talking fun…the whole family will LOVE the Ontario Science Centre. Stroller-friendly, hands-on, and super interesting; the Ontario Science Centre has something for everyone.

Canada’s largest city and most-visited destination, Toronto is Canada’s downtown. Toronto blends the best of modern Canadian diversity and inclusiveness with big-ticket events, top attractions, restaurants, music, architecture, culture and festivals in one of the world’s most unique and exciting cities.toronto_logo

I sure do love Toronto. I don’t get there as often as I would like now that I live out west. My daughter would love to go to the Eaton Centre.

I love shopping at the Eaton Centre and in Kensington Market. I am lucky to live only two hours away. My Daughter and I love to hit the city and have a fun day.

I haven’t been to Toronto in ages. But if I ever make it down there (maybe with the grandkids) I will try and hit some of these stops.

I love living here 🙂 Brickworks really is wonderful and if you’re an outdoorsy family you can go for a bike ride along the Don River from there as well!
