*snack money: ok, this is when we are in Spain and the kids are dying for an ice cream in the afternoon. I only bring snack money and not my whole wallet — as there, unfortunately, lots of thieves on the beach and I’ve seen tourists’ bags “walk away” while they are swimming in the sea.
**something to read: I never actually GET TO READ on the beach. I have kids. Who need constant life guarding supervision around water. One day I’ll actually read on the beach…’til then I’ll keep packing something to read just to keep the dream alive.
