Nikon Nikkor Lens AF-S DX 55-200mm review

December 17, 2015 23 Comments

This Nikon Nikkor Lens AF-S DX 55-200mm review is timely for holiday travel, gift ideas, and that must-have item packed your bag for the school concert. Easy to use and excellent quality…this Nikon lens is pretty awesome…

Nikon Nikkor Lens AF-S DX 55-200mm review

About the Nikon Nikkor Lens AF-S DX 55-200mm

The Nikon Nikkor Lens AF-S DX 55-200mm is a compact and versatile all-in-one zoom lens.  Its practical 55–200mm zoom range handles group shots, landscapes, portraits and more, while its telephoto capability brings everything closer.  Plus, it delivers close-up shots at 200mm with a Maximum Reproduction Ratio (R:R) of 1/3.5x—great for macro-style shots of flowers, insects and more.

The AF-S DX Zoom-NIKKOR 55–200mm features advanced Nikon lens technologies that make capturing the views of your world easier than ever—even in trying conditions. That means more opportunities for creating great photos and videos and more opportunities for creativity.

Easy to set up (turn counter clockwise and click to lock in place). The compactness of this lens allows it to pop into a camera bag with ease. But what about that zoom?…

Note: I’m in the same spot with every picture of this series. The zoom lens is bringing the playground closer.

The zoom works great and with serious definition. This is the Nikon lens you want to take with you to the school concert when you know you’ll be standing at the back of the gym. It captures objects at distance with serious definition. And yes, even in video mode (so you can zoom in on your child singing on the stage with her class).

And in terms of definition – the clarity is that of what you expect from a Nikon product…

I’ve been in the market for a new all purpose lens. This looks like a great replacement for my old lens.

My hubby has Canon, but I was always a Nikon gal. Close up shots are the hardest to do. Great job!

This sounds like a great lens! I love when a lens can do so many different zooms, less equipment to carry around.

I could really use a new camera. I’m thinking about buying one. Mine is like 8 years old.

I have this lens but don’t really use it that much. It’s great for theme parks though!

I don’t use a regular camera, just my smartphones for taking pictures for my blog. But the difference with and without this lens is indeed noticeable so I’ll keep it in mind when I finally get my first real full-function camera.

We have that lens in our bag. Try using it with a tripod for those really far scenes that need a long lens like that. Moon shots are fun.
