Super Mario Maker – Wii U

September 30, 2015 4 Comments

This weekend I got the opportunity to try out the new Super Mario Maker…

Super Mario Maker - Wii U

As a Minecraft expert previous Mario Bros lover, this was very exciting. Now, the game starts off with a very simple, easy to understand introduction. The player gets to finish the end of the tutorial level while hints and tips that are given. After the player is content with the finished level, they can try it out and continue on with the game. Through-out the game, you can play premade mini levels, or you can play levels that are made by other people around the world, as well as design your own, just for fun or to share. While I thought this game was fun and interesting to see how to make different levels hard and what not, I do think it lacked some of the motivation and excitement it had in previous Super Mario games. There’s no real goal of game, so I find it hard to get into. Maybe in more time I will enjoy it more. If you or your kid enjoy Minecraft, then I would recommend this, but if your kid enjoys objective based games then this game may be hard to stay interested in.

About Wii U

The Wii U™ GamePad controller removes the traditional barriers between you, your games, and your TV by creating a second window into the video game world. It incorporates a 6.2-inch, 16:9 aspect ratio LCD touch screen, as well as traditional button controls and two analog sticks.

The GamePad also includes motion control, a front-facing camera, a microphone, stereo speakers, rumble features, a sensor bar, a stylus, and support for Near Field Communication (NFC). It is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and weighs approximately 1.1 pounds.
