Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament at the Toronto castle is one of my favourite family destinations and attractions in the city. Step back in time and discover a world of thrills and fun…
Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament
At walking into the Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament Toronto Castle – you pick up your tickets (doors open an hour before the show). Organized with friendly staff – this process is easy. From there you pick up your crowns (which reflects both your seating section along with the knight for whom you cheer).
Before the show, you can visit the horse stalls (beautiful animals!), enjoy a drink at the bar, visit the souvenir stands (more on that below), and watch the pre-show knighting ceremonies (the Knight – MC – is hilarious!). Then, you are called to your seats by crown colour. Ready yourself for a feast!…
Have food sensitivities or are vegetarian? No problem, at your ticket pick up they ask about this. The regular fare of feast is this: hot tomato soup, garlic bread, a generous portion of roast chicken, corn (really delicious corn!), half a baked potato, and dessert. And you eat is with the utensils they used in Medieval Times…your hands! 😉
ASIDE: if your child is like mine, too busy watching the show to actually eat, you can ask for a takeaway box so that their uneaten dinner does not go to waste!
The Medieval Times Tournament is a spectacular show of horses and knightly feats. From spectacular horse training to knightly games to epic battles – the entertainment keeps young and old on the edge of their seats. And yes, you can cheer and boo at your leisure. The knights also throw flowers into their respective sections…and all I can say is…watching a little girl catch a flower from a knight brings warmth to your heart.
Of course, a night out with Knights makes one want a shield of one’s own. The Medieval Times souvenir stands located outside of the arena have a selection of Knightly treasures as well as princess-y trinkets. From armour to princess crowns…you are sure to find a treat.
Also be sure to stick around the souvenir stand/bar area after the show as the knights make an appearance and you can get autographs and photo opps with them.
I recommend visiting http://medievaltimes.com/ and taking advantage of the special offers. From free upgrades to ticket specials the special offers are certainly not to be missed. Over the years, I have taken my kids for birthday celebrations and have treated out of town guests for a group outing at Medieval Times. There is a good choice for shows – weekday, weekend, matinee, and evening (great for finding an appropriate time for your family or group).
There are Medieval Times locations across the United States in addition to the Toronto castle.
I am so jealous. I have always wanted to go there, but we don’t have one here in Boston.
Medieval Times, FTW! We have one that’s very close to us, so we go there quite a bit. I love watching the horses.
Medieval Times is the coolest place to eat and be entertained. We went to the one in Myrtle Beach a few years back and had the time of our lives! I would love to go back soon!
I have yet to experience and see that. Looks very interesting and educational as well.
I’ve never been to Medieval Times but it looks like it’s a lot of fun!! I need to go one day!!
I would love to attend one of these, I’ve wanted to for a long time but so far haven’t made it but there is still hope 🙂
Medieval Times are such a fun experience! You look like you had a great time and this makes me want to go back soon!
These are pretty cool shows. We went to one with the kids a long time ago. There’s nothing like dinner and a show!
This was something my grandparents always took us to, when we went to the mountains. I still remember so many things about these shows. The food was always my favorite.
I will include this in my list of “Places I have to be.” It must be so exciting to experience how it was to dine and be entertained during the Medieval Times.
I love these medieval times dinner tournaments! I have such fun memories of attending with family and friends! The laughter, the shouting, the support for you night…memories never ends!
I have never been but have always wanted to go. Maybe one of these times that we are in Toronto we will be able to find time to see it.
I have been wanting to go. We won tickets from a blog but moved and they never got to us. 🙁
We have Medieval times here in Dallas, but I’ve never been. I have however been the the Tournament of the Kings in Las Vegas (where I’m from) and it rocks!! Thanks for sharing!
We have a place here that is very similar! I absolutely love it. I actually feel like I went back in time every visit.
We have one here and my husband has been wanting to go to it for a while. I think we need to it looks great!
What an entertaining night you all have been. First time I heard of Medieval times dinner.I would love to experience this.
I have always wanted to go to Medieval timed. I think my boys would really enjoy it.
My Son went to Medieval Times when he was younger with his class. I went along as a volunteer. It was an amazing trip. The kids loved it and the food was amazing.
Medieval Times is an amazing way to spend the evening with the family. It is always a great time. the kids love it and the food is great.
I have always wanted to go to Medieval Times and somehow have never gotten around to it! They even have a Pirate version near me – I’m going to have to get my friends in on this and make it an evening 😀
How cool is this? I never even knew that this existed. Would love to experience this someday.
My husband enjoys things like this. Maybe I should treat him to a night at one…
We love to go when we can in Orlando. It’s such a cheesy yet super fun experience. I Actually really love the food too.
I need to take my kids to this, they love anything medieval and would probably melt if I took them to this. I think I would be mom of the year if I took them before the summer ends lol.
When the boys were little, we attended the Medieval Knights show in Los Angeles. They had a blast (and like you stated above, never finished their meal)!
One of these days, I will have to attend a medieval festival or dinner theater event because I think it would be a lot of fun. I think I would like the costumes the most, and the horses….and the overall atmosphere.
