Tips To Make Mattress Shopping Easier

May 7, 2015

Whether you are buying a new mattress to accommodate your kids growth or buying a new mattress for your college/university bound kid or buying a new mattress for yourself…I’ve discovered a few Tips To Make Mattress Shopping Easier (teaser: you will want to remember the next two words: Endy Sleep)…Endy

A few tips to make mattress shopping easier…

  1. Size matters. We needed to buy a new mattress for my daughter’s room. A double might have worked but it would have left little room for her desk. So we knew…she needed a twin. When looking for a new mattress measure to ensure your needs (twin, double, queen, or king). Consider the existing furniture in the room too.
  2. Quality matters. Think: someone is going to spend years sleeping on this mattress so it needs to be quality. Research what the mattress is made of (i.e. is it a foam or coil mattress?). Does it offer support? What is the mattress thickness? Where is it made? Aside: I kinda love that Endy Sleep is Canadian-made – buy local my friends!
  3. Warranty matters. Mattresses are important so you will want to see the manufacturer stand behind their product. A ten year warranty is preferred.
  4. Ease of shopping matters. For my daughters’ mattresses (I ended up buying one for each girl) I had the opposite of ease of shopping experience. I spent hours doing online research. Price comparisons. Went to the store. Located the mattresses. Schlepped mattresses and kids (kids who did not want to be mattress shopping) to the cashier. Loaded mattresses into minivan (which took some organization and re-organization). Drove home. Unloaded kids and mattresses (note – I unloaded kids first). Let’s just say…it wasn’t an easy process. If you can order online and have it delivered to your door for free…I say…DO IT.

We spend 1/3 of our lives sleeping. A few years ago I invested in a high-quality mattress and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. I no longer wake up with soreness or an achy back.

It’s also important to note if the mattress is bed bugs-free. Quality and size are the factors when we buy a mattress.

Quality definitely matters! Remember, you sleep 8hrs a day out of 24. You will spend a third of your life on a mattress. 1500$ is not that bad when you think about it.
