Dinner in 30 minutes?! You can do it with this Quick and Easy Spaghetti Sauce Recipe. You can use the sauce recipe for all your favourite pasta dishes! Freezes well too!
Ingredients
  • 1 lb extra lean ground beef
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • dash of salt and pepper
  • 1 can crush tomatoes
  • 1/2 can water
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp sugar (cuts the acidity in the sauce)
  • 2 tbsp herbs de provence (you can substitute basil)
Instructions
  1. In a sauce pan, brown ground beef adding garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste.
  2. In a medium sized sauce pan (or pot) empty contents of can of crushed tomatoes. Fill the same can half full with water and mix into tomatoes. Add garlic powder, sugar, and herbs de provence and stir well. Simmer on low.
  3. Once ground beef is browned – drain to discard fat. Then, add browned beef into tomato sauce mixture.
  4. Turn heat up to high. Once you see bubbles on top of sauce reduce heat to low. Simmer, covered, for 20 minutes.
  5. Serve with your favourite pasta or use as a tomato meat sauce for lasagna.

Herbs de Provence is a mixture of dry herbs found in most grocery stores. It usually contains oregano, thyme, rosemary, and basil. It’s great not only in this Quick and Easy Spaghetti Sauce Recipe but also great as a dry rub lamb and chicken.

And while you have this spaghetti sauce on the brain – I highly recommend you try my Spaghetti Pie Recipe…

I was just telling my husband a couple of days ago that I’m never buying storebought spaghetti sauce again. But I hadn’t found a homemade recipe yet. And now i found this! Thanks!
