Boost Your Energy With Food

April 9, 2015 23 Comments

Active lifestyles require a well fueled body. From parent to child, we need to make simple healthy choices when it comes to food. Let’s Boost Your Energy With Food and say goodbye to fatigue…Boost Your Energy With Food

Boost Your Energy With Food for the whole family…

Always start your day off with a healthy breakfast (there is reason they say it’s the most important meal of the day – it’s because it fuels your body for activity!). Every morning I have some variation of dairy and grains (it’s my comfort food). It also takes less than 5 minutes to eat yet fuels my body for an active morning. I also make sure my kids eat breakfast every day. It is so important to eat well to meet the energy needs of everyday life.

Fuel your body correctly. I will eat multiple small meals throughout the day. It seems to work best for my body. Which means between lunch and dinner…I’ll have a handful of raisins. Eat some cereal and milk. Eat yogurt.

Eat foods that your grandparents would recognize. This means wholesome foods which are low in sugar.

Weetabix is made with four wholesome ingredients (that are fortified with vitamins and minuters) and contains just 2 grams of sugar per servicing, which makes it a simple healthy choice when it comes to getting carbs and fibre in your diet that can help provide you with energy for your life.

Don’t forget to drink water. Water is an important part of fueling your body. It hydrates. Flushes. Fuels.

Along with these tips to Boost Your Energy With Food – I’ll add one more – stay active. We live in a modern age where we mostly sit in front of a computer all day. Be sure to get up, walk around, stretch. Because your body needs activity as much as it needs fuel to meet the needs of your everyday life.

I don’t need as much energy these days but I do remember my cousin, a farmer telling me that he always had chocolate with him for energy whilst we were out on the fell driving the sheep to shearing. Water was always plentiful and wonderful in the mountain streams.

I love to eat a banana and mixed nuts right before I go for a run for energy! 🙂

I am not big on eating breakfast, but I do it because I know it’s the most important meal of the day! I drink lots of water, too!

I tend to feel my best when I am eating as clean as possible. This includes a lot of lean protein, fresh vegetables and plenty of water.

I very rarely eat breakfast. I really should start to eat breakfast more often and I need to drink more water. I do drink a protein shake with my lunch every day.

I eat a lot of foods my grandparents and mother ate. I try to good as much as I can from scratch using simple ingredients. It can be time consuming but I feel its worth it. Once in a while I splurge.

I always eat a good breakfast except when I am doing a cleanse. Then I try to eat a lot less. I am actually doing a cleanse right now.

My struggle is water. Just reading your advice made me stop and pout myself a glass. I hit a crash point every afternoon around 3p and I need to drink water then vs. a diet coke!

I can not eat breakfast, I know you’re supposed too, but I feel sick to my stomach and just blah if I eat, but I do drink lots of water, ever since I was in the hospital for dehydration, not fun

These are great tips. I am trying to drink more water. I have a app on my phone that goes off every hour to remind myself to drink some.

I have really been working on increasing the amount of protein I eat. If I don’t make a conscious choice it’s almost none!

I need to boost my energy now more than ever. I’ve had a bad cold for weeks now and my energy is so low and I have a 10K run coming up on Mother’s Day. This sucks.

I’m pretty good about drinking water (living in Arizona that’s pretty much a must) but breakfast is not something I’m good at. I know I need to be better about eating it, I’m just not hungry in the mornings.
