Introducing the VTech Kidizoom Smartwatch for kids aged 4+ years. It’s a portable, fun-tastic, kid device allowing your kids to become mini-photographers; taking photos and video from the smartest kid watch around. Easy to pack, fun to play, and rechargeable too…you are going to want to get this…
About VTech Kidizoom Smartwatch
Camera, video, and photo effects (fun frames and filters) are done in one simple touch to the touch screen using the VTech Kidizoom Smartwatch. 128 mb internal memory stores about 800 photos or six 1 minute videos.
Voice recorder allows kids to record their voices using 5 voice changing effects (my kids LOVE recording their voices!).
Because we know colours are important to kids (my son adores everything blue) the VTech Kidizoom Smartwatch comes in a variety of colours.
But wait…it does MORE…
This device helps kids learn and tell time by actually being a watch too. You can choose between digital and analog displays (just think this watch can grow with your child – digital display as he/she is learning his numbers and analog when he’s ready to tell time). There is also over 50 clock face designs to choose from (almost a new one a week for a year!).
There are also learning games. The device comes with four games included. Beyond that you can download more games and watch displays (requires download from computer with micro usb cable included).
And I, as a parent, appreciate the safety features included in the design of this watch. Parental game controls (such a good thing), durable design (because kids are kids) and rechargeable battery (built-in and lasts up to 2 weeks). Thank you vtech!
When would your child use a VTech Kidizoom Smartwatch?
Travel activity. Light weight, portable, easy to pack, yet delivers tons of fun.
Reward! I’m not big on rewards but being at the end of the road of potty training – I must admit – I have reinforced positive acts with rewards once or twice (ok, a whole lot more of that since potty training with dear son began). Make a chart – it could be chores, potty training, doing homework, whatever you like…and at the end…when your child has received all theirs stars, check marks or happy faces…give them the smartwatch.
Obvious special occasions: birthdays, Christmas, school break.
Back-to-school gift. For the school aged kids who are starting a new school year – this smartwatch would be fun after-school and weekend entertainment (NOTE: I do not recommend allowing kids to take electronics on the school bus or to school or to extra-curricular activities. Electronics can be a distraction. They can also be stolen. They can also be bait for a bully wanting the electronic. Better to keep them an at-home activity).
Disclosure: a vtech Kidizoom Smartwatch was supplied for this review. And it’s blue – my son’s fav colour. As always, the opinions in this post are my own.
It’s amazing how well children learn to use these things – I’m astonished by my grandchildren (all 6 and under) and how well they master them. I guess they have no fear of doing something wrong (that’s me!)
