Thomas & Friends Take-n-Play Thomas’ Adventure Castle Track Set

September 19, 2013 4 Comments

This is one of those toy reviews where the explanation is all in the pictures of play. From the moment the Thomas & Friends Take-n-Play Thomas’ Adventure Castle Track Set saw the box all I heard was “Mommy, play?”  “Mommy, OPEN IT!” “pleeeeaaasssee Mommy” (proving visuals are very appealing…especially to toddlers). Though my visual of train tracks and tower pieces and die-cast metal engines…well…a bit surprising…

Oh. My. Word.

But you know how in Thomas & Friends episodes…there is always a challenge and then that challenged is figured out and everything works out in the end? Well, THAT.

I sorted the pieces. Looked at the picture on the box. And snapped the pieces in place (from a Mom to Fisher-Price: thank you for creating toys which don’t require tools or screws when putting them together! I am no good with tools. However, I am great at piecing). With cheers from my toddler “You did it Mommy!”, I can proudly say I, all-by-myself, put this toy together in minutes.

It was a very Thomas & Friends moment.

You might assume from the name “Thomas & Friends Take-n-Play Thomas’ Adventure Castle Track Set” that there is some sort of portability involved here. You would be right. The play set folds up and has a carry handle for easy portability (and great toy room storage).

The connectable die-cast metal engines roll down the train tracks with just enough speed to make it addictive. My son placed the trains and retrieved the trains over and over. We have a great number of Thomas & Friends engines which all work great on this track. The two levels of track provided lots of play choices (and boy did he play!).

A) I love that little hand

B) I like how play with train tracks help develop his hand-eye coordination, grasp, fine motor skills, and imagination.

Thomas King of the Railway Movie DVD

I never “got” the train attraction until I had a boy. And now our house is just like a train station (I’m sure there is a joke there).

There is a gradual, yet continuous, growth to our Fisher-Price Thomas & Friends toy collection (all very much played with…daily).

I’m sure we’ll soon be adding the Thomas & Friends King of Railway DVD to that collection – as Thomas always entertains – and it looks like the perfect sanity-saver for our next road trip.

It is the visual picture of play which tells us if our children like (or don’t like) certain toys…you see from these pictures…the review  of Thomas & Friends Take-n-Play Thomas’ Adventure Castle Track Set is most positive!
