Back To School Lunch Box Gear

August 28, 2013 3 Comments

Yes, I am that Mom, who just today, opened up my child’s lunch box to find moldy food from the last day of school (ewww!).  I have pitched the lunch box (and containers – lesson learned – Mom doesn’t ever get a day off – not even on the last day of school). Time to research the latest and greatest lunch box gear – specially stuff to make life a little easier for busy families…

back to school lunch box gear

  1. Smart Planet Large 3-Compartment Eco Silicone Collapsible Lunch Box, Green (amazon.ca)
  2. Bento Lunch Box 2.0 – Garden (laptoplunches.com)
  3. Contigo AUTOSEAL® West Loop Stainless Steel Travel Mug (Vacuum Insulated) – 20 oz. (costco in store) – great for hot and cold
  4. Light My Fire Spork (mec.ca)
  5. Black FUNtainer™ Food Jar (thermosbrand.ca) – great for hot and cold
  6. North 49 Insulated Tote Lunch Bag (staples.ca)

Back To School Lunch Box Gear Aside…

I picked up two collapsible lunch boxes (not the Smart Planet ones but something similar) in Spain last week (yes, I was in Spain last week – it’s very rare you can drop a travel experience like that in a blog post so forgive the travel dropping). We used the Contigo bottles last year and they were great (from sending hot chocolate to warm up little bodies in the winter to sending ice water to cool off busy bodies in the spring). The spork is a staple here (we have many). The Thermos has been often used here too – but this year I have to find a larger size for my hungry kids (anyone know where I can get a bigger Thermos?).  And we’ve used the North 49 lunch boxes before (I liked that I could separate lunch and snacks in different pockets).

Do you have any lunch box gear ideas to share?…

Did you check lunch boxes at www. giftshoppe.ca insulated lunch boxes with two compartments, which you can use for ice pack or just pack in it. You also can match them with backpacks. Different models available.
