Father’s day bar b q ideas (or just any day!) – these are my own easy recipes. Cut the veggies, heat the grill and get ready for some good eating. I like to serve the mains and sides buffet style so that people can choose what they like (I’m a pleaser that way). Menu du jour: grilled steak, grilled vegetables, crisp salad and lots of great conversation.
Let’s start with the salad (going completely against my French husband’s food ethics…the French serve their salads last). Mixed field greens, a homemade vinaigrette, shredded Emmenthal, sunflower seeds, and a few crutons (for crunch). Simple and satisfying.
Grilled Veggies. Mushrooms, red pepper slices, onion slices dancing together in extra virgin olive oil with salt and pepper. TIP: put these veggies in an aluminum foil package (grilling them en papillote) making one less plate to clean.
Potatoes. Steam, boil or en papillote cook these darlings until they are tender and simply dress them in some salt, pepper and extra virgin olive oil.
Grilled Steak. This Father’s Day Bar B Q Ideas post wouldn’t be complete without the goodness of steak. The bar b q’s best friend…steak. Grilled to perfection and then rested for 10 minutes so that the juices chill out. Looks good enough to eat right?
What do you think, dear readers? Any easy Father’s Day Bar B Q Ideas to share?…

Peaches wrapped in bacon! I have never heard of such goodness…I’m going to have to try that.
I agree, yummy! Love the fingerling potatoes! I was drooling at the pics!
Ok – so you just made my day…I’ve been working on getting better at blog pictures…THANK YOU for the kind words.
mmmm those grilled vegies look so good
We have a tray to grill veggies (new this year). In the past, I’ve always put cut veggies in foil and grilled them that way (less clean up). We’ll see if the BBQ tray works as well.
Thick cut pork chops are such a nice change from our typical grilled steak. Next time I will be trying my hand at some Grilled Hawaiian Pork Chops. Goodness I can’t wait.
