Summer’s here and soccer is ON! Whether you are heading out to watch your lil’ one in the house league or heading to the living room to watch a big game…soccer is great way to get the family together and cheer on the players. This post is for the soccer Mom (or Dad) in you all…(SPOILER: contest mention below)…
The BMO Team of the Week program: nominate your child’s soccer team (specifically Canadian soccer teams with players aged 7-12 year olds) to be entered to win an amazing grand prize of $125,000 to refurbish their soccer field and other great weekly prizes. In addition, the grand prize winner will receive BMO Soccer outfits, a BMO Branch celebration and $5,000 to be donated to a local charity of choice (and there’s even more…surf over to the Full contest HERE to get the deets on a great team trip included in the grand prize).
Who can nominate?
Parents, Coaches, or team rep. Just write a short paragraph (150 word minimum) sharing why your team deserves this amazing opportunity. Add in a team photo or video. Then it’s all about sharing and generating support from your community through the BMO Team of the Week hub.
Aside: I would have nominated my daughter’s team from her under 8 year…the kids played in a field that had more holes in the ground than players in the game. The sorriest soccer field ever.
Nominations close July 12, 2013 (that’s in just 3 weeks) so get your entries in!
Parents of girls…we all know that lots of girls love sports but drop out as they hit the awkward pre-teen years. Get your girls inspired to keep playing via the BMO Team of the Week Ambassadors and Canadian Women’s Team members Erin McCleod, Diana Matheson and Rhian Wilkinson. Erin, Diana, and Rhian prove girls do not need to be embarrassed about being athletic. As a Mom, I kinda love that.
But there’s MORE!
When you nominate a BMO Team of the Week, you will be eligible to receive up to 200 BONUS Air Miles.
Those Air Miles could be turned into grocery gift cards for the team snack (or a little treat for the parent who does the soccer game drive!).
One of my favourite things about having my kids in soccer was the family activity of it. We cheered the kids, enjoyed an evening in the open air, turned off our phones, held hands and gave big hugs. Summer, soccer, and kids…it’s stuff you’ll never forget!
Disclosure: #spon. Opinions in this post are, of course, my own.
Wow! What a prize! That would be amazing for any team to win!
Isn’t it awesome? And there are weekly prizes and some very nice air miles to be won too!
This is awesome for the winning community.
It’s a prize which keeps on giving…can you imagine the teams using the renovated field next year…and the year(s) after?!
That’s some prize!
