Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park

April 18, 2013 16 Comments

Always on the look out for an activity which will get kids moving – the idea of an Indoor Trampoline Park intrigued me. Sport + fun + kids = winning family field trip. A new family destination has been discovered…guys…you have to see Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park…

Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park

Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park has two locations Toronto and Mississauga.

We walked into an open area where you lined up to pay, get trampoline shoes (not needed for toddlers), and sign your waivers (tip: you can do your waivers ahead). Not knowing if I was going to be able to jump with my toddler or if he was to solo jump – I freed myself up by leaving my diaper bag, snacks and coat in the car…silly me. They had lockers where I could have safely stored all our stuff. Lots of seating for shoe-putting-on (and snacking!) too. We were soon on our way to…wait…jumping?!…did I just sign up for JUMPING?!

Skyzone Trampoline Leaside

I did…I did just sign up for JUMPING (ssshh…don’t tell my bladder…after 3 kids it doesn’t like jumping).

During Toddler Time (and thank you Sky Zone for having dedicated toddler time – because it’s a pleasure not to have to watchdog big kids bulldozing your two-year old), there were pre-schoolers, caregivers (Moms, Grandparents and Nannies alike) and lots of Sky Zone Staff around the trampolines. Staff were friendly, courteous and not afraid to interact with the kids (a smart way to keep the kids focused and safe).

No, as a parent you don’t have to jump (you can certainly stand to the side and watch). But it’s more FUN if you tramp with your tot!

The foam pit was a hit with most (ok, not my toddler – he was more into jumping up then jumping in). I can imagine a birthday party at Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park to be a pretty serious hit.

I love finding a new spot for kid activities. Sky Zone will definitely see us return.

Disclosure: I was provided the opportunity to experience Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park. And my bladder did not mind at all. The opinions on this post are my own.

I live closeby to SkyZone Toronto so I really want to bring my 3 year old son here. I’m sure he would have a BLAST during Toddler time!

I recommend filling out the voucher on line then (we didn’t and had to wait about 25 minutes in line to do so).

Isn’t it great when kids just get active?! No screens, batteries or usb chargers required for this kind of fun.

Just had my son’s birthday party at Skyzone — very disappointed!! We’ve been before and had a great time, but the party ‘service’ could hardly be called service. The lady who took my booking was rude & condescending. She barely told me anything about what was included, that they are not peanut free so I should bring food for the 2 attendees who are allergic, and if I wanted more info to check the website. BTW, the website says if I want more info on parties, to call. When we arrived, there was no one to help us organize the kids, collect waivers and switch up shoes… it was up to me to figure out what was expected, and I’d never been to a party there so I was just winging it. They offered to keep my peanut free cake in their kitchen (which is not peanut free so the opportunity for cross contamination was high, so NO) then told me that the food I brought for the kids with peanut allergies was not allowed in… ???? After an hour of jumping, our hostess moved us into the party room, handed out pizza and disappeared. She arrived again to tell us to let her know when we wanted to serve the cake, then disappeared. She arrived again, saw that I was serving the cake, then disappeared. She arrived one last time when the kids were gathering the stuff to leave to tell me that we needed to be out of the room because there was another party in 10 minutes. I thought her job was to be there, keep the party moving, and ensure we got out on time, but she kept disappearing! The kids had fun, they didn’t notice the problems, but I will never recommends parties at Skyzone ever, to anyone.

Skyzone may sound like fun, but it is a dangerous place. Today, my 5 year old son was in there attending a birthday party, he had a lot of fun until one of the adults jumped on him. LITERALLY jumped on him. My son fell in one of the adult’s squares and said adult had his back turned, didn’t see him and continued jumping until he heard my son screaming. None of the attendants even notice, but anyway we had to leave in a hurry to get him checked. Thankfully he wasn’t injured.

I do not understand why they allow adults to jump in the same area as kids, even if they are the parents of other kids. Accidents can happen, kids will fall. If kids tumble and fall, it’s not as bad as when it happens with adults. I hope you will take my comment into consideration, because I got the scare of my life today, and I will personally not let him set him foot there ever again. Adults should not be allowed with kids. Skyzone recognize themselves that it’s a dangerous place. Just read their waiver, it is serious business.
