What to wear for a family portrait? Casual or Formal? Need ideas for men, women, and kids? This is the Parent Club – What To Wear: Family Portrait edition.
Denim is a great, casual, look for family pictures. It doesn’t shout “holiday photo-op” to me. Plus, I feel, when I see my kids in pictures in jeans…it represents their true childhood.

When formal attire is required, I tend to go with a three colour scheme (makes life easier). Black, white and a colour that pops. If we all wear basic black and white – then I can wear a red necklace, my oldest daughter a red headband, middle child a red top, husband a red tie and baby a red pair of socks (yes, he has red socks) – we are colour-married without it being shocking.
All of the items in both pictures are available on sears.ca.
Disclosure: I am part of the Sears – The Baby’s Room Ambassador program with Mom Central Canada and I receive special perks as part of my affiliation with this group. The opinions on this blog are my own.
Our family hasn’t done a family portrait yet. Thanks for the tip.
