THE WHAT: Scenic Caves, Blue Mountain
THE WHERE: 10 minute drive from Blue Mountain Resort
THE SCENIC CAVES: Walk Ontario’s Longest Suspension Bridge, explore the caverns and caves created over time, try your hand at gemstone mining and walk the nature trail.
This type of eco-tour wouldn’t have been on my must-do-vacation-list with 2 kids and a baby…until we did it…and it was a fantastic experience for all!
Give yourself at least 2 hours (if not a half-day) to explore the scenic caves. Wear running shoes and socks (lots of walking and stair climbing). Take water. Not stroller friendly however they do have baby carriers available for borrowing. We did borrow a front carrier which was great but I would recommend taking a backpack carrier for toddlers.
You do need a certain level of physical fitness to climb the stairs and walk through certain elements of the trail but my 9-year-old and 11-year-old were more than up to the task.

The sign to the above greeted me as we were at the top of the trail – it really did make me smile!
We loved walking through the forest, climbing over rocks, taking in the breathtaking views. It was a true adventure in the middle of a regular vacation.
Disclosure: I had the opportunity to tour the Scenic Caves. The trail was truly magnificent. The opinions in this post are my own.
