Dear Tim Hortons,
Just between us…thank you.
Thank you for inventing the Timbits (which was both an activity and a snack for my 2 kids during our two hour non-moving line up to cross the Canada/U.S. border this past weekend – your Timbits made the trip a little nicer).
Thank you for never asking if I “want fries with that?” (because I don’t – also thank you for not offering to supersize anything – the world is supersized enough).
Thank you for offer healthy choices of sandwiches, bagels, chili and soup (because it teaches my kids that fast food doesn’t have to be crap food).
Thank you for sponsoring kids’ hockey and summer camp (because it shows me it’s not all about you and quarterly profits).
Thank you for not offering a treasure box nor toy with each meal (because I don’t need anymore plastic from China in my backseat).
Thank you for donuts. And coffee. And steeped tea. (And I’m sure parents everywhere thank you too).
Thank you for being our little piece of home on every road trip across Ontario.
Thank you for being (and staying) Canadian.
Thank you for being on a military base in Kandahar, Afghanistan (because I’m sure Canadian soliders are appreciating their own little piece of home).
You are my go-to and I thank you for that.
From,
Me
*This is not sponsored or pitched. I truly heart Timmies.
I, too, heart Tim Hortons. I feel better about my occasional Tims now that my son has played on both hockey and T-ball Timbits teams this past year! My only suggestion to Tim Hortons would be to increase their discount from 10 cents to 25 cents when customers bring in their own reusable cups for hot drinks in hopes of reducing the number of Tim Hortons cups and lids littered around our beautiful province! Most of us are good at brining reusable bags and bins to the grocery store, now we all need to get better at keeping a clean reusable mug in the car ready for our next caffeine craving!
Wonderful post. I agree with you wholeheartedly.
And their chili is the best!!
