The Parent Club panel has been at it again…this time testing the new LeapFrog Tag Reading System. Targeted for the 4-8 year old market this pen-like wireless device reads much like the LeapFrog LeapPad.
Parent Club Parent; My kids were pretty excited about this new object. The younger one was a bit frustrated trying to get it to work. However, once on the right track — my child was quickly using the pen left to right following the sentences. Great pre-reader skills.
My older child quickly found the activities in the books. The favourite book of both children – by far – was Walter the Farting Dog Goes on a Cruise by William Kotzwinkle et al.
Parent Club Child (age 4); I liked the farting. It was so funny! I liked turning the pages. I liked reading by myself.
Parent Club Child(age 8); This toy is cool. I liked using the pen to read the book. When I was tired I touched the book and it read the story to me out loud. The activities were really fun.
Overall: this small, portable reading system would be a great addition to any road trip.
Parent Club would like to thank LeapFrog and TSA for bringing this interesting challenge to our panel
