Whether you are Parents and infants enjoying a much needed chat or school-aged playmate…help tidy up after the playdate! The guest leaves a great impression by helping organize the toys and coffee mugs. The host gets a little more inspired to have people – like you – over.
It is a sad, sad feeling to host a bunch of “friends” only for them to leave the host with a crazy messy house, tired kids and a kitchen to clean. It’s not impolite to ask — in the direction of the toddlers — but loud enough for the parents to hear “Can all of our friends put away just one toy.” This teaches kids how to be a good guest, organization, fair play, and listening skills. Even if it is just one toy…it helps.
Here is a fun song (created tons of giggles just because of the lyrics) to help the tidying up.
Now’s the time to tidy up
–move your butts, move your butts.
Now’s the time to tidy up
–MOVE YOUR BUTT.
Seriously, this song is silly but using butt seems to be hilarious.
Of course, their are the times when a kid – or parent – is melting down and you have to bolt. Understandable.
