Easy and Nutritious Lunch Inspiration

September 25, 2017 38 Comments

Whether we’re making lunches for the or for the office, not to mention second lunches (if you’re always hungry like my kids), we could all use some Easy and Nutritious Lunch Inspiration.

Fruits are a go-to for rounding out our lunches. Here is a fruit, , which deserves some lunch love…

Easy and Nutritious Lunch Inspiration

Zespri SunGold Kiwifruit have a delicious, tropical taste that’s sweeter than green kiwifruit, which even the pickiest of eaters will love. And you can actually eat the skin.

Have you and your family tried SunGold Kiwifruit? It’s time to discover this little golden gem of goodness!

SunGold Kiwifruit has a full day’s supply of vitamin C

  • One kiwifruit provides three times the amount of vitamin C found in an orange.
  • Working hard to keep their gums and bones healthy, vitamin C helps kids’ bodies resist infection, so when they get cuts—as kids on the playground do—vitamin C will help them heal.

High in potassium

  • A serving of kiwifruit (2) has as much potassium as a medium banana (I didn’t know this!)
  • Potassium is not only crucial for a child’s good health and development, but important for controlling the water balance in their bodies, especially when running around and working up a sweat.

Kiwifruit is a hold-in-your-hand snack that all ages can enjoy. It’s texture, juiciness and colour invites kids to explore their senses as they eat. It’s also fun to scoop (and you know scooping factor rates high with kids aged 4-7). It’s a good grab n’ go snack (Or should I say scoop ‘n go?) for big kids and teens as they head out to sports’ practice.

And it’s something different. In a good way. A switch up from the usual fruits you buy at the grocery store each week. A diverse diet is important not only for taste…but also for your overall dietary health. You can’t eat the same old thing every day. And neither can your kids.

The only way to introduce different foods to your family is to actually go buy them at the grocery store. So add SunGold Kiwifruit to your shopping list for some Easy and Nutritious Lunch Inspiration.

I did not know kiwis had so much potassium, so I think I will get some even though they are hard to eat sometimes. My son is always asking for them.

I love a nice ripe kiwi, however I’ve not heard of these. Wow you can eat the skin, that’s added roughage then too. I actually had two kiwi trees in my garden in Germany – I had no idea what they were until the fruit appeared. A lot smaller than those in the stores but delicious all the same.

My son and I love buying kiwi’s to take in our lunch. My daughter has never liked them but tends to switch back and forth between what foods she currently likes. Strawberries and cucumbers are usually a win with her.

I have never sent kiwi in my child’s lunch before. It’s not something I’ve bought often. I think it would make a great school snack & it’s easier to eat than I thought!
