Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Recipe

November 30, 2013 27 Comments

I love the activity of baking. And my kids have a long tradition of dragging a chair across the floor to the kitchen counter – climbing up -and rolling up their sleeves to bake with me. They don’t even ask now. Drraaaggg and voila I see a chair and little helper magically appear the moment the mixer comes out. ย This is one of our favourites to make together: my Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Recipe…

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Recipe

Yummy right?

TIP: always have a stock of ripe bananas on hand for this chocolate chip banana bread recipe…when your bananas start going black – pop them in the freezer. Simply put out an hour before you want to bake (or defrost them in the microwave for 45 seconds). ย That way you can make this recipe anytime!

When baking with kids I always advise to take turns measuring, pouring, and stirring to keep it fun (and ensure there are no fights – fighting is not allowed in baking right?!).

Looks delicious and it would be perfect to have on hand during the holidays and all year round. I love baking with my grandkids as I loved baking with my grandmother! Banana bread usually freezes well too! Thanks for the recipe!

It’s also really good if you’ve eaten half the cake and then get surprise guests…you just cut the rest of the bundt and serve it in individual portions on a circle platter. Not that I’ve ever done that of course *I have* ๐Ÿ˜‰

Dont ask me why, but I have never thought to make banana bread in a bundt pan! I like the idea though to make every portion the same.. Great idea as well on adding flax – healthy boost ๐Ÿ™‚

When I make it in a loaf pan – it always seems to dense – whereas in the bundt pan – it’s moist and yummy. Could be a user issue.

I always seem to have ripe bananas laying around so this is a delicious recipe to use them up. I would also add 4 tablespoons of flax and it would not affect the rising or taste.
