Homemade Mason Jar Ice Cream (3 Hours)

How-to-make-mason-jar-ice-cream-in-three-hours-via-www.parentclub.ca

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream (or whipping cream)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

(Optional add-ins: chocolate chips, crushed cookies, fruit pieces, caramel, or sprinkles)

Instructions

  1. Fill the Jar
    • Add the heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, and salt into a clean quart-sized mason jar.
    • If adding flavorings (like cocoa powder or fruit puree), mix them in now.
  2. Shake It Up
    • Screw the lid on tightly.
    • Shake the jar vigorously for 4–5 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly and coats the sides of the jar.
  3. Freeze
    • Place the jar in the freezer.
    • Freeze for 3 hours, giving it a quick shake once halfway through if you can.
  4. Serve
    • Remove from freezer, let sit for 5 minutes at room temperature.
    • Scoop into bowls, or eat straight from the jar!

Tip: For chocolate ice cream, add 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder before shaking.
Mix-ins: Stir in crushed cookies, berries, or chocolate chips after shaking but before freezing.
