While driving my kid to school, I heard a radio person discussing Book Promotion Tips: Colour Psychology and Branding. It’s interesting how colours affect what we attract (and un-attract) to in life. We can use these ideas to present who we are, what we sell/create, and what we read.

For authors and illustrators — using colour psychology can help with presentations, website design, newsletter design, and book designs.
Book Promotion Tips Colour Psychology and Branding
- Yellow can make one look warm and optimistic (example: McDonalds logo)
- Orange can make one appear friendly and cheerful (example: amazon logo)
- Wearing black might make one look suspicious and untrustworthy (example: nike logo)
- Red can make one appear bold and exciting (example: CNN logo)
- Baby blue makes one look tranquility and reliability (example: Alexa logo)
- Dark blue can make one appear trustworthy and dependable (example: Facebook logo)
- Pink or blush makes one look confident (example: barbie logo)
- Green makes one look trustworthy and healthy (example: whole foods logo)
- Purple makes one look rich and creative (probably because it is also the colour of royalty) (example: Hallmark logo)
- Grey can make one appear calm and balanced (example: apple logo)
I created the Parent Club logo with a baby blue circle simply because, at that time, baby blue was my favourite colour. It is peaceful and reminds me of a blue sky on a sunny day. Maybe, underneath it all, I wanted Parent Club to be a peaceful place for readers to find information to make their lives easier.
