Kellogg’s Rice Krispies

December 1, 2014 Leave a Comment

As a child I ate Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal almost every day. Now as a Mom, I serve it to my kids. Chez moi, Kellogg’s Rice Krispies are served with milk for breakfast, bagged as a dry cereal snack for lunch, and turn into a family activity when I teach my kids how to make Rice Krispies treats…

Make a Treat. Make a difference. Create a Rice Krispies treat in the shape of your favourite toy. Share a photo of your Rice Krispies Treats creation at www.RiceKrispies.ca using #TreatsForToys and Kellogg’s Rice Krispies will donate a toy to a child in need. The more treats shared…the more toys donated.

Does that Robot look like it was made by a 3 year old?! Our Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Treats may not have Pinterest appeal but they are 100% kid crafted. And that’s one of my favourite things about doing activities with kids – they are supposed to look like they were kid made (not a stylist, not a designer, not even by ME). Allowing the kids to free form, design, and decorate their Kellogg’s Rice Krispies treats allowed the kids a great creative moment. And I kinda loved coaching my son on where the Robot eyes should go “Over the nose! Eyes are over the the nose!”.

And bonus – we uploaded out photos to particpate in the #treatsfortoys program – meaning our activity has helped a child in need have a better holiday. That’s a win.
