Read This Before You Buy That

November 1, 2012 2 Comments

Confession: I started my holiday shopping this week (let’s call that smart shopping rather than being a keener shall we?…).  I always shop early (mainly because I hate holiday line-ups…and shopping).

You know me – I shop on-line, during nap time, and have it delivered to my door (because my dislike of holiday line-ups and shopping stems from having to take hot, bored, melting-down-child-in-a-stroller into a mall *shudder*).

This is why you need to read this before you buy that – take it from me – use nap time well and do your research before you spend ->

  • Compare prices across several different stores (you might get a deal!)
  • Take advantage of on-line shipping offers (closer to the holidays many stores offer FREE shipping – yes, I look for things like this).
  • Use a coupon (like Fisher-Price’s Celebrate & Save program – print these coupons from your computer at home or at the office. The actual coupons are valid until December 31 which is awesome for saving )
  • Read reviews (Just this week, I snagged ds’s Christmas present based on rave reviews of the toy from other on-line parents)

Finding the perfect gift for baby can be a challenge – will he love it?, is it on sale?, do I have to go to 4 different stores to find it? (yes, these are things I think about around holiday shopping time).

So share…are you an impulse buyer or webaholic researcher? *typed by a webaholic*

Great tips! I always compare prices because some of the differences in price, I’ve seen, can be $10 to $50!

Great tips, indeed! Like yourself, I really hate the crowds that come with the holiday shopping. I try to online shop as much as possible – I have never thought to look for coupons!
