We were recently approached to participate in the 5 Minute Challenge from Clover Leaf (and disclosure: we do actually use Clover Leaf as our go-to tuna for school lunch so this challenge was right up our alley…or river…since…you know…it’s fish.)
And bonus points to Clover Leaf: they are donating 555 cans of tuna to local food banks in tandem with this challenge (woot woot for social good!)
So we received a basketful of Clover Leaf products as well as some recipes and were challenged to take 5 ingredients and make a full recipe in 5 minutes.
Doable for a busy family? We let the kids judge…
Can I quote you on that? “Can we change the green onions to something else?”
Flavour: uh-uhn. I don’t like it. well, seems ok.
Presentation: looked ok
How fast was it? three and a half minutes
Judge bio: a very picky 10 year old who doesn’t like foods to touch.
Take 5 Montuna Cristo
Can I quote you on that?: “I think this is yummy”
Flavour: I like it. A lot.
Presentation: Looks like French toast with tuna inside.
How fast was it?: 5 minutes.
Judge bio: An 8 year old who is willing to give anything a try.
So a near-miss and a hit. Does that this a challenge make?! I think NOT. So the next day I did a challenge switch-up. Kids YOU take 5 ingredients and make lunch and I’ll be the judge…
Tune into the next post for the recipes the kids made (really very cool actually) and deets how one lucky Parent Club reader will be getting their own Take 5 takeaway!
